Abandoned Dogs Rescued Through Good Samaritan’s Help

A brown puppy is sitting in a wooden box.

One Monday in Tampa, Florida, a kindhearted soul heard animal cries coming from a nearby trash bin. The good samaritan then sought the help of the local police. Authorities from Tampa Police Department and Hillsborough County Animal Shelter wasted no time and rushed to the aid of the unidentified crying critter.

A worried mother

Upon reaching the scene, authorities discovered a frantic female dog, desperately trying to tear open a trash bag with her paws. Sensing the humans meant no harm, the dog allowed the authorities to help. Soon, the mother dog’s 1-week-old puppy was liberated.

Tiny lives saved

Despite its emancipation, the puppy was still not safe from harm. The puppy’s still-undetermined length of stay inside the unventilated confines of the bag caused it to suffer heat exhaustion. Luckily, the authorities were able to help it cool off with the use of ice cubes.

After finding the puppy’s siblings in a nearby shed, authorities brought the litter and their mother to the Pet Resource Center. There, the dog family was immediately put in the care of Hillsborough County Animal Services.

Given that they were still relatively young, the puppies and their mother were made to stay with the aforementioned animal services. There, the mother and her litter were cared for until they are old and strong enough to be adopted.

Search for the culprit

Even if the dog family has been saved, authorities were eager to know how the puppy wound up inside the trash bag. The police launched an investigation in hopes of finding out who was behind the cruel abandonment of the mother and her puppies. A combined reward of up to $3,500 was offered by Crime Stoppers of Tampa and Florida Voices for Animals for any information that would lead to an arrest.

Well-Behaved Service Dogs In Canada Watched Billy Elliot Together

A girl laying on the grass with a dog.

A new viral photo of dogs is circulating on the internet. The picture shows a group of service dogs sitting inside a theater in Canada. They are all patiently seated while watching the Billy Elliot production.

The group consists of various breeds of dogs which include golden retrievers and a bunch of poodles. They took up four rows inside the theater. The activity aimed to help the dogs practice their adaptability skills.

The service dogs needed to learn how to assist their handlers in a theater atmosphere. According to the owner of K-9 Country Inn Working Service Dogs, Laura Mackenzie, the dogs should know how to stay with their handler and be able to be of service in different settings.

The theater is a perfect area to practice this skill because dogs are exposed to different lights, various movements, and loud noises. They should be able to learn how to remain calm and relaxed inside the area for hours.

The production featured a relaxed performance which was created solely for people who have autism or for people who need a more serene atmosphere. The place also features other productions which are made for people who have difficulty seeing or hearing.

According to Ann Swerdfager, the spokesperson of Stratford Festival, the service dogs were all well-behaved. They also knew how to leave and return to their seats without any commotion.

Swerdfager mentioned that the cast and other audience members were pleased to see the service dogs. The training can be done inside the theater, and the dogs can visit the area a few times a week. She also mentioned that the training is good because people who need service dogs will not hesitate to visit the theater anymore. They can visit as much as they like as long as they have a trained service pooch on their side.

Thank you to K-9 Country Inn Working Service Dogs for this amazing feature! Hopefully, more service dogs can experience this type of training in the future.

This Mother Dog Makes Sure Her Daughter Always Has Something To Eat

Two white dogs kissing each other in front of a fence.

A mother’s love is pure and selfless. They say a mother will do anything for her child even if it means making sacrifices for herself. This statement is also true even for man’s best friend. Many have documented motherly acts from dogs. The following story is another documentation of a dog showing pure motherly care.

We’re going to follow the life of a dog from South Korea named Chorong. She has one daughter named Eu-bbun. The two of them don’t live together because they have different owners. However, that doesn’t stop Chorong from caring for her pup.

Fortunately, the homes of the two owners are located in the same neighborhood. So all Chorong has to do is walk a few blocks.

So what does Chorong do? It’s simple yet endearing. Any time she receives food either from her owner or a passerby, she doesn’t eat. Instead, she takes the food and brings it to where Eu-bbun is.

It doesn’t matter if its ribs, meat, or even bread, she is going to bring it to her daughter and feed her. That’s a solid example of motherly love.

Eu-bbun’s owner sometimes has to escort Chorong out of the residence. Otherwise, she is going to stay there indefinitely. Meanwhile, Chorong’s owner always ends up calling her to get back.

Both owners are worried about Chorong’s health. It has come to the point where she wouldn’t eat. All the food she receives goes to her daughter. Because of the concern, they sought the help of a veterinarian.

The solution to the problem was simple. Chorong needs to see her daughter eat first. The vet advised the owners to feed them together. As expected once Chorong realizes Eu-bbun is eating properly, she begins to eat her meal.

Eu-bbun has grown significantly in a few months. She has become the same size as her mother. The two dogs continue to play and dine together. This is a mother and daughter duo that won’t be separated.

German Shepherd Rescued From High Kill Shelter Enjoys Full Life With New Mom

A german shepherd dog laying in the grass.

Dogs end up in kill shelters for various reasons. For a German Shepherd named Eva, it was simply because of the neglect of her previous owner.

Having no time to take care of her, Eva’s previous owner left her in the shelter. She was scared and unsure of the people around her. Because of her history, she grew suspicious of humans.

One day, someone from German Shepherd Rescue saw her and decided to take her along with another dog. While she liked her new environment, Eva knew it wasn’t her home. She longed for the day she would have her own home.

And that day did come. A woman named Felicia often visited Eva at the rescue center. She fell in love with the dog and decided to adopt her.

That was a turning point in both of their lives. They didn’t know it at the time, but being together changed their lives in a way they didn’t imagine.

Under Felicia’s loving care, Eva blossomed into a loyal, warm, and faithful dog. She experienced so many things that she didn’t know about in her old home, like sleeping in a dog bed and playing with toys.

Soon, Eva learned how to be a dog again. She enjoyed every moment with her mom Felicia. They walked four times a day. They ate their meals together, watched movies together, and cuddled on the bed at night. It was more than Eva could ask for.

However, she wasn’t the only one who bloomed in their relationship. Before Eva was adopted, her mom was sick; she felt tired quickly and couldn’t walk far. But with Eva on her side, her health slowly improved.

Felicia became better until she was able to go back to work. Eva’s presence in her life gave her so much joy that her physical body was strengthened. She may have rescued Eva, but Eva’s love rescued her back.

Love truly heals all wounds. Watch Eva and Felicia’s touching story in the video below. Don’t forget to grab a tissue before you do!

Labrador Puppy With A Broken Jaw Brought To Animal Center For Euthanasia Instead Gets A Second Chance With A Loving Family

A person is petting a dog.

The staff of San Jose Animal Care Center met a Labrador named Banana for the first time when his breeder brought him there to be put down. The puppy, who was only six or seven weeks old then, suffered a broken jaw after his sire bit down too hard while correcting his behavior.

Of course, the medical staff refused to euthanize Banana, who still wagged his tail despite his situation. They placed the Labrador on meds to dull the pain, but the center wasn’t equipped to operate on his jaw.

Hence, Dr. Sharon Ostermann, one of the center’s full-time vets who runs the blog Tails of a Shelter Vet, asked for help through Facebook. In just one hour, a California-based non-profit organization called Umbrella of Hope offered to take in Banana.

The puppy required multiple surgeries to repair his jaw. However, his journey to recovery went without a hitch, thanks to the loving care of his medical foster family.

For quite some time, Banana had to wear tape around his snout to stabilize his jaw, and he wasn’t allowed to chew. Once the wires were out of his jaw, however, the silly pup wanted to make up for lost time by nibbling on everything, even his canine sister’s ear!

In all, Banana spent almost a year healing from his broken jaw. Today, he’s no longer a small ball of fur — he’s now a 60-pound Lab named Nanner. Together with his adoptive family, he works as a farm dog, which is well-suited to his high energy levels.

Giving up the Lab was probably the best thing that Nanner’s former owner did for him. In his new home, he runs all he wants around a pasture, then cools down afterward by swimming. The lovable pooch even goes hiking and camping with his family.

Watch Nanner, or Banana, on the day he arrived at San Jose Animal Care Center in the video below:

Ozzie Shares His Toy With The Pup In The Mirror

A white dog running in the grass.

Dogs are probably the most selfless creatures on earth. They love and care for us more than they do for themselves. And while they don’t have much when it comes to material things, they share what they have no matter how little or how big it is. Just like Ozzie.

Ozzie may be small in size, but he sure has a big heart. And his mom recorded a video to support that claim.

Emma Green brought Ozzie home when he was still a young puppy. Since day one, she has noticed just how sweet the little pup is. He adores every person he meets and befriends every dog that comes his way.

It wasn’t until a month later that Emma discovered just how caring and loving Ozzie could be. But the pup’s kindness, somehow, became an accidental entertainment for his mom and the online world.

One day, Ozzie with his favorite plush toy panda in his mouth, strolled inside a room that’s surrounded by mirrors. As he walked and came closer to the mirrored wall, he noticed something that appears to be a puppy, precisely like him. So, you may ask, “What did he do?”

Ozzi tried sharing his toy Panda to the dog in the mirror. And that moment leads to a hilariously adorable encounter with his own replica.

Watch that cute scene here:

Indeed, it was something that Emma would never forget. Ozzie demonstrates his sweetness in every way possible, even if it means doing it the most bizarre way. But no matter what, it merely proves the pup has an unconditional love for everybody.

Pups never fail to find ways of showing how they care. So there will surely be more sweet and unforgettable moments that Ozzie will be sharing with his mom.

Puppy Lives Miraculously And Grows Up To Be A Big Pit Bull

A brown and white dog is sitting in the grass.

If there’s one thing that inspiring animal stories teach us the most, it’s not giving up too early. There are countless puppy survivors out there who had managed to bounce back because their owner refused to give up. Here is one of those stories. Let’s meet Guinness the pit bull.

A dog was surrendered to an animal shelter three days before giving birth. That’s when little Guinness came to the world. Jess Vorberg, his current owner, noticed that there was something different about him. Guinness was half the size of the other puppies. Jess recalls taking pictures of Guinness where he looks like a tiny alien baby.

They also noticed that Guinness’ health was declining. He had difficulty breathing and was making odd movements with his mouth. Jess feared that the puppy wouldn’t live for long.

It came to a point where the puppy stopped breathing. Jess had to perform CPR. It worked, and Guinness was fighting for life.

Jess informed her boss about what happened and asked if she could take care of Guinness and fight with him. Jess made sure to prepare and get the little puppy everything he needed.

When Guinness first drank milk, it was magical. He drank like there’s no tomorrow. Jess expresses how happy she is about the decision she made. She ended up adopting Guinness’ sister as well. Jess noticed the two puppies had the same struggle although the sister is twice the size of Guinness.

They noticed how Guinness struggles to walk. At first, he relied on his front legs dragging his back legs. From time to time, Jess trained Guinness’ back legs by positioning him upright with care.

As Guinness grew up, it became clearer and more apparent to Emily how she wouldn’t let go of her dog. She found what she likes to call her “soul dog.” After several months Guinness has become a wonderful and energetic pit bull.
