A Rescued Senior Dog Survived Days In The Freezing Winter Cold

A dog is sitting in front of a freezing white background.

Dogs and “getting stuck out in the winter cold” will never be a good pair, especially if the dog is already ahead in her age. This is what happened to a senior dog known as Old Lady after she ran and got lost for seventeen days out in the freezing cold.

Old Lady, a St. Bernard who’d survived life at a horrendous puppy mill and was rescued along with four hundred (400) other dogs at the turn of the year. She went into foster care with Ruff Start Rescue and just when she was about to start life in a new home, fear of unfamiliar surroundings caught up to her. With this, she ran away.

The foster picked her up and brought Old Lady to her new home. But as soon as they got her out of the car, Old Lady got spooked by the sounds of crunching ice. She ran dragging the foster halfway down the ice covered driveway.

Her foster family and other rescue volunteers immediately start searching. Rescuers wrote on Facebook that they’ve had search parties, phone calls, signs and many other people out there looking for her.

Ruff Start Rescue described Old Lady as a quick and strong dog for her age. But despite her fitness they were all concerned. The St. Bernard is now out in the cold and on her own for seventeen (17) days. Still, they continued searching.

Alas, after weeks of searching, she had been found. Go to the next page to see some reunion photos.

Bar And Dogpark Business: An Interesting Venture

Keywords: dogpark, statue

Remember back in college, when you and your friends were drinking and you’re a bit tipsy? Then you start sharing your crazy business ideas for a bar? Combining different elements that would make the business stand out and become the talk of the town. Well, it turns out, one of those guys were serious about their visions.

The concept of Boozehounds was born, and now is being realized. They are expected to open this summer in Orlando, Florida. The business is supposed to bring two places into one – a dog park for the good doggos who like to socialize, and a bar where the owners can socialize as well.

There will be a lot of facilities for the pups to play around in. These will help the dogs with their exercise – they can play around with other dogs – and it helps keep them entertained. For the dog parents, they will have a full bar with booze and TVs to watch their games and meet new acquaintances as well.

Would this really work? Go to the next page and see more details.

Pit Bull Throws A Tantrum While At The Vet

If you are a certified dog or animal lover, you undoubtedly have watched several adorable dog videos. Well, let this video featured in this article be added to your playlist. And definitely, you would want to watch it over and over again!

Some dogs might not like taking medicine, bathing, brushing of their teeth, and so on. In such cases, dogs might make a scene, keep on getting away from you, or even throw tantrums.

And when our dogs do have a tantrum, instead of being annoyed or frustrated, sometimes we couldn’t help but even feel somewhat fascinated. Why? Because we would usually expect such behavior from little kids, not animals.

Take the case of Carl’s tantrum as a good example. He is an adorable Pit Bull who dislikes going to the vet clinic. You might imagine him as a toddler not wanting to go to the doctor for fear of injection. However, we always need to consider our dog’s health and well-being first.

This Kid Just Found His Dance Buddy

A baby and a dog are playing in a living room.

It is such a wonderful experience to see kids have fun and enjoy their friends’ company. The video below displays the kind of friendship we all want our kids to have and experience. Also, through this video, you will learn to appreciate a very essential life lesson from a young boy and a dog. In addition, seeing this video will definitely leave smiles on your faces.

The dog started spinning and dancing in exchange for some treat from its owner. The moment the child saw how the dog enjoys dancing, he started imitating the moves of the dog. He thought it was fun! He follows the dog’s movements, spinning around and giggling in his every action. The way this boy giggles and blushes are indications of his pure happiness from this experience.

Meghan Markle And The Queen Found A Common Ground In Dogs

Queen Elizabeth II walks with a group of people and dogs.

Meeting your significant other’s family is an anxious event that truly tests your nerves. The main goal is to be liked by them, but you want to keep it genuine and shy away from overselling yourself. Cold sweats and a lot of smiling will be your companion at this moment, but more often than not, everything else falls into place.

For Hollywood actress Meghan Markle, it shouldn’t be hard to please anyone. Her presence alone is enough to charm people around her. In fact, other people should be the ones vying for her approval, instead of the other way around. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, knowing that she is a big TV star from the hit series Suits and a couple of other projects.

There’s only a tiny bit of problem and you might’ve heard about it already – her in-laws are the British Royal Family. Meghan Markle is a big star in Hollywood no doubt, but if anyone’s the bigger star, it’s the Queen. Good thing they found a common interest – their love for dogs.

Hot Weather Tips For Your Dog

A dog enjoying hot weather while playing with water from a hose.

Here at Doggy Times we love the summer! Many people can’t fully enjoy the hot weather because they are afraid of the heat for their pups. There is good news though, your canine can spend time outside if you follow these six easy tips for keeping your dog safe in the heat.

1. Give Your Dog Water

To make sure your dog doesn’t overheat means lots of water. It is easy to keep your dog cool and hydrated by carrying a travel water bowl. One that collapses and is easy to carry is ideal. You will also need to pack bottles of water (try to keep them cold if possible). Offer your dog water each hour. If you notice your dog panting a lot, please get her out of the heat and drinking more water.

2. Water on the Outside

If there are water options where you are going, ie swimming or other activities in the water then it is easy to help your dog stay cool. It’s a good idea to call ahead and see what water options for dogs are available. Bring a couple towels to help your pup dry off after he swims or plays.

3. Avoid Noontime

It’s a good policy to avoid the heat of the day for both you and your dog. The hours of 11am-3pm are when the sun’s heat is the hottest. Avoid exercising during those times. If you do have to go for a walk during these times, take it easy, avoid hot sidewalks that can burn your dog’s paws and bring lots of water for you and your dog!
