Grumpy-Faced Pug That Nobody Wanted Finds A Loving Family Who Appreciates How Different He Looks

A small pug dog is looking at the camera.

Mr. Cornelius’s odd looks, which were the very quality that turned off other potential adopters, helped a couple fall in love with this Pug and open their home to him.

Mr. Cornelius belonged to an unplanned litter of puppies born to a Pug dad and a Shih Tzu-Pug mom in a neighborhood in Toronto. He stood out because of his coloring—he had light cream fur and pale blue eyes.

Because of this, nobody wanted Mr. Cornelius; they all thought he was ill. Luckily for him, their Pug-loving neighbors Toni Cusson and her boyfriend James O’Donnell heard that the puppies were looking for new homes.

All but Mr. Cornelius were already accounted for when the two got there.

Toni and James weren’t actively looking for a new pet as they already had a Pug named Bowie, but their hearts melted when they saw Mr. Cornelius’s adorably grumpy mug.

Toni did a little research to find out whether the light-colored Pug had any disorders they should know about beforehand.

At first, the results indicated that he might have albinism, but after some more digging, it turned out that Mr. Cornelius’s condition was called leucism—he only had a partial lack of pigmentation.

Other than that, Mr. Cornelius was declared completely healthy by his veterinarian; he didn’t have the eye issues usually associated with albinism, for example.

Once the Pug was at his new home, he found a best friend in Bowie. In fact, she’s the only canine friend Mr. Cornelius has as he doesn’t like other dogs at all; one can spot his grumpy expression surfacing from a mile away when he’s forced to interact with unfamiliar canines.

Mr. Cornelius positively enjoys baths, however, and he’ll even get into the tub himself while waiting for his humans to fill it up.

And for some reason, the Pug has a fixation on orange things, which make his usually frowning face do a 180 and light up in a happy grin.

His fur mom says he’s not a crabby dog at all, though; that’s just his face! Watch Mr. Cornelius with his sister Bowie in the video below:

Service Dog Saves Blind Woman From Getting Hit By A Bus

A golden retriever is laying on the floor in a room.

Service dogs are there to help the people who are in need lead safe and as normal lives as their disabilities can allow them to. They are guides that help their companions to steer clear of obstacles as they walk. However, this particular service dog has gone above and beyond his service to save the life of his charge.

A speeding bus

Figo is an eight-year-old Golden Retriever who is the latest companion and service dog for Audrey Stone who is legally blind. They were simply crossing the street when suddenly the dog noticed that there was a bus speeding towards them while they walked. This is when Figo immediately switched to the other side of Audrey to put himself in between his companion and the danger.

Heroic dog

This caused injuries to both dog and owner but luckily, both of them survived. Figo’s front legs were run over by the bus’ wheel and had to undergo surgery to prevent him from losing his legs. However, it is because of this incredibly heroic pooch that both of them have made it through that horrible accident. The police say that the service dog did not even cry out in pain but waited by his companion until she was able to get the help she needed.

Road to recovery

Today, both Figo and Audrey are on their way to recovering from the injuries that they sustained that day. But you could see it in the face of Figo that he is still happy and cheerful even if both his front legs are plastered. All his just waiting for now is to be reunited with his companion again.

Service dogs can do a lot of things to help those who are in need of them. But thanks to Figo, you can really see that these dogs can go above and beyond their training just to help their companion in need.

Tiny Dog Shows Gratefulness Towards Rescuers

A chihuahua dog playing with a toy.

Crying in a shelter does not help the scared dogs who need a home. So Angela Dan never did every time she goes to foster a dog. But Freddie was different, she just melted Angela’s heart, and she could not hold back a few tears.

Angela drove four hours to get this poor dog. When Freddie was given to Angela, he was wrapped in a blanket. Angela did not realize how tiny she was until she was able to hold her.

He was very skinny, and his paw was not quite normal. She found out that seventeen of Freddie’s teeth were removed and his legs were spayed out. Freddie was also underweight and scared.

This does not look like a dog who had a good life. Medically, it will be a challenge to take care of Freddie, but Angela was ready to take care of him. She knows that he is so deserving of it.

Angela knows when a dog is thankful, and Freddie shows his gratefulness for Angela multiple times. Freddie knows that he is safe and properly cared of. Angela has even taught him a trick called the T-rex which he has mastered.

Freddie is just the cutest thing when he does that trick. There are people who have questioned Angela why she still fosters special needs animals when they can pass away anytime. Her answer is simple.

These dogs teach her to appreciate life as they come. No need to worry about the days that passed or the days that are yet to come. These dogs teach her that every moment needs to be enjoyed and appreciated.

When the dogs look at Angela with pure gratitude, she knows that she is doing something right. She will be never tired of taking care of her foster dogs as she knows that they all deserve the best of life.

This Tiny Dog Is An Inspiration

A french bulldog standing on a rock.

Every life, no matter how tiny, matters. This little puppy drinks water from a hamster bottle. He looks more like a very small guinea pig than an actual dog.

That’s how tiny Auggie is. This French Bulldog was born with a cleft palate, and his breeder has tube fed him for three weeks. When a breeder does not want to care for their dogs anymore, they contact S.N.O.R.T or Short Noses Only Rescue Team. This organization takes in any pug, Boston terriers, French bulldogs, and English bulldogs.

That’s how Meghan Debiasio got Auggie. She got him when he was only three and a half weeks old. When she first saw him, he was so tiny that he looked like a newborn puppy. But there was no excitement from him, no tail wagging whatsoever.

Under Meghan’s care, Auggie grew in size, but there were more problems than just his height. He seems to have neurological issues as there is never a normal interaction when it comes to him.

But this tiny dog is the sweetest. He would always sleep in his mom’s neck like a parrot. That’s where he nuzzles up every night when he goes to bed. When it comes to dog interaction, he has a hard time keeping up, but he found a friend in Juno.

It’s amazing how Juno would allow him to nuzzle up to her. She doesn’t seem to mind. One thing that is very noticeable with them, is their size. Auggie’s lack of size he makes up for in spirit.

You still see him fight every day, and every day he improves. The dog who people thought would not make it is thriving. And he continues to grow every single day.

He fights to live, and he fights to be happy.

Senior Pit Bull Gets A Family

A pit bull dog running on a dirt path.

Senior dogs are usually the least to get adopted due to their age and health issues. It’s even more challenging when that senior dog is a pitbull who has been tagged as dangerous by society. This stereotyping has been going around for years, but more and more people are trying to change people’s minds.

Since Zolton was rescued, it has been around three months until he was finally adopted. He is one of the lucky who actually gets a home that would love him. Zolton’s tail was wagging hard when he saw his mom for the first time.

He could tell that his future is with this woman and he will be loved. It was time for him to go to his forever home. There was a sign of relief in his eyes. Joe, the rescue trainer, brought Zolton and his new mother, Cynthia home. There, he started sniffing around to get familiar with different scents of his new environment.

When he got there, he does not even know how to play with a toy. It seems he never learned from his previous owner. About a month in, Zolton was finally able to adjust to his new life.

He now enjoys going for walks too! There is just something about dogs with horrible experiences that no matter what they have been through in life, they end become so forgiving and can still be so trusting. Some of the senior dogs like Zolton may never have a happy day in their lives, but Zolton was one of the lucky few who gets to.

His mom has rescued his life, and Zolton knows it. Because of what Cynthia has done, Zolton will not know pain anymore. From here on out, he will only learn love and affection from his parents.

Saving a senior dog’s life is one of the sweetest things anyone can do for a dog.
